If you want more certainty, please book the same type of pitch.

Yes. An extra car is £10 per night. An extra adult is £10 per night and £5 per night for a child. On booking extras you might find that it costs the same to book an additional pitch. I know this seems a lot, but we want to keep the space in the field for the grass and the children and it allows us to cap the total number of people/cars on the site for your stay.

The facilities block is nearly new with lovely big showers, great for families with small children. There are lots of hooks to hang your things, a hair dryer and plenty of space inside. There is also a small kitchen area for washing up and a chest freezer for refreezing your ice blocks. Outside the kitchen is a campsite dishwasher, this cost £1.50 per wash and only takes 2-3mins. Lastly next to the facilities block is the campsite shop/reception, selling the basics, snacks and drinks and our own organically reared meat. Here you can also rent the firepits and buy wood.
  • Do you have a Chemical/Portable Toilet disposal point (Elsan)?
Sorry we don’t have this facility on site as we are not on mains sewage and out own system is too sensitive. We have a very sensitive sewage treatment plant and we would ask you not to dispose of any portable toilet waste in our toilets even if does not have chemicals in it. It could damage the system and consequently the river.
  • How do you connect to an electric pitch?
To connect to an electric hook-up, you will need an electric hook-up cable and plug. These are widely available online. They have a large 3 pin plug with round pins and are usually orange and blue.

Yes but only if we think we can do so safely and when time allows. We are sorry this can't be all the time, but we have animals and the farm to look after.

The shop normally has a range of venison, lamb, pork and chicken in the freezer. We are also working hard in the butchery to ensure that there is a regular supply of fresh burgers and sausages in the shop. We also have hot drinks and stock basic such as milk, bread, eggs, bacon, drinks, snacks, and ice cream!
  • Does the butchery take orders in advance?
Yes! You can order of meat from the farm in advance including, larger cuts of meat to cook over the fire. Larger cuts suitable to share include whole legs of lamb, butterflied legs of lamb, lamb shoulders and pork loins. If there are a few of you then a Whole Lambs or Spatchcock Chickens plus lots of other cuts can all be prepared on an Asado Cross. You can walk your dog along the unadopted road at the very top of the hill as this is normally quiet (there are cars though so take care). There are several public foot paths nearby, please ask at the shop for more information. There is also a map by the facilities block. If you want to let your dog run off lead, then Sykes Lane car park at Rutland water has a dedicated enclosed dog walking area where dogs can be let off the lead. • Can I bring my own firepit or BBQ?
Yes as long as they are off the ground and don't damage the grass.

Yes bags of kiln dried logs which are available to buy in the shop.
